Anna Hutchings, AMFT

We are all a product of our relationships: families and friends, in schools and communities, at work and in our larger world. Understanding the roles that these systems play in our lives defines Anna’s work with couples, adolescents, families and individuals.

Anna’s goal in treatment is to help people work through their problem-saturated narratives using Solution Focused and Narrative therapy techniques as well as communication theory. This work is unique to each system, and can include understanding and reconnecting to ourselves to better identify our wants and needs and being able to communicate in a way that the people in our lives can hear and understand.  Anna seeks to meet people where they are with warmth and acceptance, and to help find solutions that work.  Her stance is compassionate empowerment backed by evidence-based practice.

Anna is from Duluth, Georgia and has a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Georgia.  Additionally, she earned a Master’s of Arts in Teaching from Georgia State University and a Master’s of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University. Her prior work experience includes teaching in a middle school classroom and interning with a non-profit, community-based mental health provider.

Anna is a member of the Georgia Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, as well as the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and a member of Delta Kappa Pi, the International Marriage and Family Therapy Honors Society.

In her free time, Anna likes to craft, read, spend time with her family, and play tennis. Anna loves Braves baseball, UGA football and a day at the beach.

Anna is under the supervision of Licia Freeman, MA, MEd, LMFT.
